End of line.

Our final show that was supposed to happen tonight has been cancelled. Sorry people, due to unforseen circumstances, the show has had to be pulled.

We will be making a few last tracks available for download on Basecamp shortly, we’ll let you know on here and via Facebook once they’re up.

Thanks again to everyone for your time and ears. We love you.

We always will.

So long and thanks for all the fuzz

So, the news is out – Colonics has come to an end. It’s not been an easy decision to make, but I (Dan) have decided it’s time to move on and look at other projects I’ve had kicking about for a while.

But fear not, we each have new things in the works that are just as fantastic and exciting as Colonics which we hope will fill the void our split will no doubt leave in your life.

Ash continues his work with Allan Goodey in the guise of Gillian – you can check out some of their fine stuff here:

http://gillian.bandcamp.com/

Trudy will be behind the drums for Part Deux, the reincarnation of the mighty Extravagatron, who reformed earlier this year.

I’m going to be focussing on Kellar, who have some demos up on Soundcloud:

We have a final gig lined up on October 12th (that’s tomorrow) at the Green Door Store, Brighton. It would be awesome if you came along to see us off.

October 12th 2011

Ice, Sea, Dead People / Pink Screaming Voodoo Strip Club / Colonics / (additional support TBC)

Green Door Store § Goods Yard, Brighton Station, Brighton

AND you can still download 1.0 and 1.5 from our Bandcamp page. Our little legacy of fuzz and thump. Go and download it now. It’s free, but you’re more than welcome to give us some money for it, if you like.

Huge THANK YOUs to all the promoters for giving us gigs, and even huger THANK YOUs to all of you that came out to see us play. It was a fantastic 18 months (christ, was it really only that long?)

Much love, thank you and GOODNIGHT.

Things change

So… on Saturday we played at Knowledge as Our Weapon and had some major technical hitches – amps going mental, strings going pop and guitars not staying in tune. We struggled, but managed to bash out 2 and 2 half belters. But we had to call time early and it was disappointing to say the least. That said, the other bands were amazing!

Huge thanks to Dan at KAOW for hooking us up with the show – if he’ll ever have us back, we’ll play a full set! Big hugs and kisses to Alex from Gin Panic for lending me his guitar – I couldn’t get it to do what I needed it to, but thank you anyway, it was much appreciated!

Now, on to the next London gig at the Zenith… no, wait… due to some rather ridiculous unforeseen circumstances, we’ve had to pull out of the show. Too complicated to explain here, but as far as I know, the show is still going ahead, with an expanded line-up. It’s an eclectic one, to say the least. And just because your favourite Brighton-based Post-Music band isn’t playing, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go along – we may even turn up ourselves, just without equipment and a set list.

We’re still playing in Brighton on October 12th, though, so come along to that! It will be excellent. Probably.

Come out to play!

People of London (and the surrounding areas), we’ll be returning to the capital for another night of amp bashing and head nodding THIS Saturday (for anyone that can’t read, that’s the 27th of August, the year of our lord 2011).

Help us celebrate the new dark age by coming along to the VERY BLOODY FIRST night of Knowledge As Our Weapon, the brutal, yet fit, sister of Echoes and Dust and Sunkan Dymonds (advanced level readers will recall that we played our first London show for the Dymonds crew, and it really was a fantastic night.)

We’ll be playing with some really shit hot acts – go check them out!

Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster, Gin Panic and Playlounge will all be in attendance and that basically means you’re GOING TO HAVE A GOOD TIME.

For more info on this ruddy bloody good night out, hit up the KOAW site NOW.

Be there, or be one of life’s losers.

P.S. The very lovely folk at Cognitive Dissonance Records have put together this sampler mix of all the upcoming bands – there’s a few we’ve played with on here. They’re all good.

Reviewage

We’ve done gone and got reviewed again – A fine review of 1.0 by our good pal Shaun from Wrecktheplacefantastic

http://www.nostalgiaforinfinity.com/2011/07/colonics-10-digital-ep/

“a more accessible Lightning Bolt, a more abrasive and texturally dense That Fucking Tank – they occupy a middle ground that works nicely.”

Lovely stuff.
